7 years ago I decided to spend one week without modern technology, phone and everything related to internet. To prepare, I told my friends and family so they wouldn’t worry about my absence. I also printed some biochemistry articles , canvas and some art supplies for painting during challenging time.

Can I find balance?

7 years ago I decided to spend one week without modern technology, phone and everything related to internet. To prepare, I told my friends and family so they wouldn’t worry about my absence. I also printed some biochemistry articles , canvas and some art supplies for painting during challenging time.

First day was the hardest day in my life, I tried to keep myself busy by reading articles and writing down lots of new things I learned.

On the Second day I really missed my phone but I started to draw a hard picture of jungle with too many details which required so much focuse.

Suprisingly third day and fourth day I didn’t understand how passed fast because I went out to nature with my friends.

In the middle of week I cooked my foods with my grandma’s recipe and those pastas were the most delicious I had ever tased.

In the last few days, I had been cleaning my house, took some yoga and meditation in deep real silence which was amazing and completely different to previous meditations.

The thing I missed the most, was chatting with my friends and family.

the unexpected benefits of this challenge was I felt calm and less stress because I didn’t check the news and could read my articles without any distractions.

I would definitely repeat it again, however nowadays it is really impossible to live even one day without phone but it’s good to live and enjoy the present moments and restore balance my energy.

Life with less

After receiving a notification on my phone that I had been spending an average of six hours a day on screen time, I decided to change my routine and try one week without technology. I hadn’t realised how much time I was wasting on it!

First of all, I got a pen and paper to plan my whole week. I started with my routine tasks, like feeding the dogs, going to the gym and cooking. After that, I tried to fill all the free slots with activities that I usually say I don’t have “time” for. Like spending time with my dogs at the park, doing some gardening, and visiting new places.

It was not an easy week until I get used to stay without phone or other devices. I’ve felt anxiety and a sensation of missing something.

The second day I felt better and my mind was slower than before. The following days I was feeling more connected and concentrated with me and my life. Spending time with nature and doing relevance things was grateful. I finished these days so great and I reckon that everyone should experience one week without technology. Nowadays people spend much time scrolling the screen and getting a lot of irrelevant information. Of course, It was possible because I’m on holidays and I hadn’t work on computer. The technology and devices are tools and we need to look over our shoulder in how much time and what was the quality of the content we are seeing on it.

What a 7 days

Are human beings really able to go for a day without a technology? Technology is playing a major role in our lives. What if I go for a week without technology usages, will it will be tricky? If I had a chance to do it I would go for it. I will change the seven days into seven challenges to make it more interesting and beneficial at the same time. I will embark with day-to-day challenges that is going to add a greatest perk to my life as well.

Each and every single day, I will begin the day with a motivational music. After that, there will be an exercise session every single day for an hour. This is something helps my day-to-day life under healthy routine. At the end of the exercise session there is going to be some healthy breakfast meals and also for every lunch and dinner as well. That is for a healthy diet plan which is going to lead my balance diet.

For the first day, which is on Monday, there's going to be a minor challenge, which is brain related tricky puzzles. As for Tuesday, it is going to be a fun task scaling monkey bars, which is going to enhance my upper body strength. On Wednesday and Thursday there is going to be some healthy continental cooking which is my ideal. For Friday Saturday and Sunday, there is going to be a heap of gobsmacking events including spa, swimming, badminton and spending time with loved ones.

Additionally, the unexpected benefit which I'm going to earn is learning skills which are utterly new to me. Despite living without technology the core part of my life in these days is going to be spending time meticulously enjoying everything. I'm sure once I have completed it I would do it again and I'm going to learn so much purpose from this experiment.

How would my life be without technology for a week?

Today we all use technology a lot. I'm curious about how much we need it. If I had the chance I would try living without technology for one week. This is how I would do it

First, I would plan the week carefully. I would say no fun things on my phone or computer such as tiktok or YouTube and no games either. I would only use them for Google maps. I would tell my family that would not be online much, and I would find other things to do as well.

During the week, I think the first few days would be hard. I would probably want to check my phone all the time, but I’ll try to do other things instead. I'll try to focus more on my homework and maybe hang up with my friends in person instead of just texting. I know I'd miss talking to my friends online and seeing what's going on. It would be harder to make plans I hope I try to actually pay attention in class instead of daydreaming to, maybe I wouldn't be stressed out. I think I might even get more creative like start writing or trying to learn a new skill like playing the guitar (I have one but I never use it). I know I'll get bored; I'll probably feel fear of missing out, but I’ll try to remember why I'm doing this. I think it would be a good thing to try, even though it would be hard. It would help me see that there's more to life than just my phone. It'd be like hitting the reset button for my brain. Wish me luck!
