Independent lifestyle

Why choose halls of residence?

  • Independent lifestyle with the opportunity to socialise with other students
  • Modern living standards with well-equipped kitchens and shared spaces
  • Safe stays, organised by British Council-accredited agencies

What is included?

  • Fully equipped kitchen (you need to bring your own washing-up liquid and cloths)
  • Shared kitchen
  • Laundry service available
  • Private room (only single rooms available)
  • Ensuite rooms available in some residences
  • Bedroom with natural light and a suitably sized bed
  • Good heating and lighting
  • Storage space: hanging and drawer space for clothes
  • Study space: table, desk, and chair
  • Weekly change of bed linen (check specific residence for towel details)

What to expect from the residence?

  • Distance: all residential accommodation is located near underground stations, mainly in zones 1 or 2.
  • People: many halls of residence have rooms arranged in ‘cluster flats’ (apartments) where between 3 and 8 rooms share a communal kitchen/dining area and sometimes bathrooms
  • Meal options: self-catering, meaning you prepare your own meals.

What halls of residence are available?

  • South Bank: located in a great Zone 1 area, the residence is just 5 minutes walk to Southwark
  • Chapter Lewisham: situated in the heart of a vibrant and well-connected area in Zone 2
  • Charles Morton Court: located in one of our favourite areas, Islington, in zone 1.
