Overview - Morning General English - 15 hours a week

This 4 day General English course in the morning (Monday to Thursday) is for students not taking a formal exam. It covers all English skills, speaking, listening, writing, reading, as well as vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, through real life topics and practice. A unique programme where you will develop language skills that help you communicate with real people in authentic social experiences, such as Social Fridays, our weekly extracurricular activities led by a teacher to help you meet other students and practise English outside the classroom.

Course Details

  • Week 1: Hello! Learn to talk about yourself and people you know. Learn to meet and greet new people.

  • Week 2: All about me Learn to talk about hometown and possessions. Learn and ask for and give personal information.

  • Week 3: Food and drink Learn to talk about food and drink, and your diet. Learn to order and pay in a café.

  • Week 4: My life and my family Learn to talk about your family and your life. Learn to ask and talk about photographs.

  • Week 5: Places Learn how to describe towns/cities. Learn how to ask and talk about where places are.

  • Week 6: Work and routines Learn to talk about people’s jobs, daily routines, and habits. Learn how to make and accept offers.

  • Week 7: Shopping and fashion Learn to talk about clothes and things you would like to buy. Learn how to ask about and pay for things in shops.

  • Week 8: Past events Learn to talk about and describe events in the past. Learn how to make and respond to suggestions.

  • Week 9: Holidays Learn how to talk about travel and holiday experiences in the past. Learn how to make and respond to requests.

  • Week 10: Here and now Learn how to talk about your home, ask people where they are and what they’re doing. Learn how to ask for travel information.

  • Week 11: Achievers Learn how to talk about people’s lives and things you know how to do. Learn to discuss your opinions. Week 12 Plans Learn to talk, ask and answer about future plans. Learn how to make and accept invitations.

  • Minimum age: 16 years old

  • Lessons:  4 days a week. Monday - Wednesday (09:00 -13:30) and Thursdays (09:00 -12:15)

  • Hours per week: 15

  • Extracurricular activities: take place every Friday (Social Fridays)

  • Class size: maximum 12 students

  • Coursebook:  first coursebook included in price, any other books cost £40
